Kansas
There are fewer than 15 miles of Route 66 through Kansas, but they are a satisfying 15 miles passing through Galena, Riverton and Baxter Springs. These towns are so quaint you will be tempted to stop and explore each one.In Galena, you will find a Main Street that looks like it must have been 80 years ago. The 4 Women on the Route is a must stop place.
In Riverton, you will pass the Eisler Bros. Store, which has been in continuous operation since 1925. On your way to Baxter Springs, you'll cross the 1923 Rainbow Bridge.
Baxter Springs has been known as the most robbed town in Kansas, and you can see a bank that Jesse James robbed.
Have fun in Kansas. It is a very rural and enjoyable 20 miles that won't take you Over the Rainbow, but it will take you back in time.
