Chenoa was founded in 1854 to serve as a mercantile center for surrounding agricultural communities. The population is around 2,000.
This is another proud town that is representative of the old road when it traversed rural mid west communities in the early days of Route 66.
Chenoa participates in the Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor events each May.
From Chenoa, follow Frontage Rd to Lexington
From Chenoa, follow Frontage Rd toward Pontiac - As you approach Pontiac, there will be a Hwy 116 sign; go right onto Reynolds St (there is no street sign, so use the Hwy 116 sign as your marker) - Go one block, and just before the RR tracks, go left on Ladd St - Cross Howard St/Hwy 116 - Curve right onto Lincoln - Curve left on Division - Curve right and then left onto Pontiac Rd by the Old Log Cabin Restaurant
