Waynesville, MO

October 16, 2023

Just past the sign showing you are entering Waynesville, keep a lookout on the right up a hill for a rock painted like a giant frog (known locally as W H Croaker).

There is an 1850s Stagecoach Stop on the town Square. It is the oldest building in Waynesville.

Waynesville used to be a big stomping ground for GIs from Fort Leonard Wood. It apparently had a bunch of rowdy bars. The current bars are OK, but they are not too rowdy. Try Hopper's Pub at 318 Historic Route 66. Steve's Place just west of town at 202 Glenda Dr is another biker friendly place.
