Rialto, CA
Rialto is the first town in your home stretch to LA. It's pretty much a strait shot all the way to Pasadena.
It was settled by Indians before the year 1500. In 1769, the King of Spain awarded portins of current Rialto to certain well to do Spaniards.
The second of the Wigwam Motels is here. It is in better shape than the one in Holbrook AZ. The rooms are bigger, and have modern furniture and flat screen TVs. If you like cigars, they often get smoked with management out by the pool. Be sure to make reservations in the warm weather months. Even if you can't stay, this photo op is a must.
Mormons came to the area in 1851. Families began moving in and establishing vineyards, citrus groves and ranches by 1854. There is an adobe house from this period in Lilac Park in Rialto.
Rialto is home of Pyro Spectaculars, which is one of the biggest fireworks companies in the United States.
