Ellisville, MO

October 16, 2023

Ellisville was founded in about 1847 by Captain James Harvey Ferris, who brought slaves with him. The slaves constructed his house, known as The Brick House, out of bricks they made by hand. The house was destroyed in 1969.

When leaving Ellisville, you finally will leave the strip centers of suburban St Louis behind and go into some beautiful rural countryside as you head toward Pond. You will go through some residential developments, but don't worry; you will be heading in the right direction.
