Stroud, OK
Between Depew and Stroud you will pass the Route 66 Biker Rally and RV Park. There is nothing going on there except during the Rallies.
In Stroud, you will find the 1939 Rock Cafe, which was built from stone mined during the construction of Route 66. It burned in 2008 but has been rebuilt and is doing great.
The Skyliner Motel is well preserved. Right around the corner is Vellarta's Mexican Restaurant, whose sign welcomes bikers.
The former Cue and Brew and Brew has been converted to the Lazy J Saloon. This place must be a bit more edgy than it would seem from first appearances. There is a sign prohibiting doing cocain in the bathrooms. The Lazy J claims to be a bar where bank robber Henry Starr hung out. Starr claimed to have robbed more banks than any man in America. It's highly unlikely that Starr had anything to do with Stroud, let alone hanging around at any bar on the site of the Lazy J.
From Stroud, follow OK 66 through Davenport
From Stroud, follow OK 66 to out of town and follow it toward Depew - Look for a small Route 66 Shield sign and go right to Downtown Depew (There will be no signs to guide you through, so you will have to make your own way)
