Adrian claims to be the mid point between Chicago and LA on Route 66. You can stop at the 1928 Midpoint Cafe' and Gift Shop if it's opened. Everyone talks about the "ugly crust" pies there, and they in fact are good. This place has not been open during some of my many trips through Adrian, but they advertise being be open from 8:00 to 4:30 seven days a week. There are several other Route 66 remnants in Adrian that are photo worthy, including the Fabulous 40 Motel sign. The Motel was closed for years but it has been reopened. It's $66.00 per night to stay.
From Adrian, stay on N Frontage Rd to I-40 Exit 18 - Get on I-40 and go 18 miles to Glenrio - Take Exit 0, go left over I-40, then Right on Route 66 into Glenrio
From Adrian, follow N Frontage Rd, which will become Bus 40 in Vega
