San Fidel, NM
San Fidel is the last of the near ghost towns before getting to Grants. There is the Zodiac Bar and the San Fidel Trading Post, but neither one has been opened when I have passed through. But, I've always been through there in the day time. Maybe the Zodiac is a hot night spot.
San Fidel used to have several café's and service stations. They are all gone, but there is a Catholic church and school in operation.
The Ann Wigmore Foundation is in San Fidel. It offers 10 day retreats focusing on the "Living Foods Lifestyle," whatever that is. Doesn't sound like there is any good Mexican food there.
From San Fidel, follow Hwy 124 (there is no Hwy 124 sign) until the road dead ends past the old White Bros sign - Cross over I-40 and stay on Hwy 124 - Cross under I-40 under a narrow tunnel and keep going to Hwy 117 - Go right on Hwy 117 and follow it into Grants
From San Fidel, follow Hwy 124 to Cubero
