Bellemont, AZ

October 16, 2023

Belmont has Easy Rider sites and memorabilia that bikers will want to see.

Belmont is the home of Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson. It's a small shop compared to the huge dealerships that now seem to be the norm. The folks in there are nice and helpful. While collecting content from this site, I stopped in to get a new rear tire and a fluid change. They were glad to help a road warrior on short notice.

A few miles East past Grand Canyon H-D on the Frontage Rd, you can find the Pine Breeze Inn that was used in filming Easy Rider.

The original "No Vacancy" sign from the Pine Breeze Inn from Easy Rider hangs in the Roadhouse Cafe' right next to Grand Canyon H-D. It has lots of interesting museum pieces and also serves food. The unique thing is that you have to cook your food yourself. So, if you order a cheeseburger, they give you a burger patty, a roll and some cheese and send you to a large communal grill where other folks will be cooking their own meals. Beans and salad come with it and you serve yourself. It's odd, but it works.

When you leave Bellmont, you will get to ride through some very pretty country on your way to Parks, then on to Williams. A couple of miles of this route is dirt road, but very passable so long as its dry. In wet weather, skip this route and instead get on I-40 to Willaims.
