Parks, AZ
The main reason to go through Parks is the beautiful wooded ride. There is a little village, along with the Parks in the Pines General Store, which was established in 1906. At its peak, Parks had a Post Office, a general store, a restaurant, a school and a campgrounds. The general store is the only surviving business.
This ride goes over some dirt road. It's fine in dry weather, but if it's wet, avoid this route and stay on I-40 to Williams.
