Parks, AZ

October 16, 2023

The main reason to go through Parks is the beautiful wooded ride. There is a little village, along with the Parks in the Pines General Store, which was established in 1906. At its peak, Parks had a Post Office, a general store, a restaurant, a school and a campgrounds. The general store is the only surviving business.

This ride goes over some dirt road. It's fine in dry weather, but if it's wet, avoid this route and stay on I-40 to Williams.

Westbound
from Parks:
Williams

From Parks, follow CO RD 146 - At the access road for I-40 Exit 171, go left and get on I-40 - Get off I-40 at Exit 165 and go left onto Bus 40 toward Williams - Stay straight on Bus 40 into Williams

Eastbound
from Parks:
Bellemont

From Parks, follow CO RD 146 toward Belmont (Part of the road will be gravel; its pretty sandy, and you will slide around a bit, so be careful) - Keep following CO RD 146, which becomes N Frontage Rd, to I-40 Exit 185 in Bellmont - Cross I-40 and get go left on S Frontage Rd (This is a dead end road, but it will take you to the Pine Breeze Inn where part of Easy Rider was filmed) - After looking at the Pine Breeze Inn, go back to Bellmont and get on I-40 toward Fagstaff
