The ride through LaVerne continues the pleasant semi-rural ride that began in Claremont. It is the home of the University of La Verne, which is a nationally recognized private college founded in 1891.
Boxer Sugar Shane Mosley, football players Freddie Brown and Glenn Davis, and entertainers Jessica Albers and Jeffery Garcia all are from La Verne.
The La Paloma Cafe' serves good Mexican food.
