Lyons, IL

Lyons is one of the smaller towns in the Chicago area with a population of around 11,000. However it has a rich history. It was established on the half mile stretch of land connecting the Chicago River and the Des Plaines River. This helped establish Chicago as a major world city.
Lyons once had a significant mob element and had bunch of strip clubs and bars along Ogden Avenue. Lyons has been cleaned up and most of these establishments no longer exist. As B. B. King might say, The Thrill is Gone!
