Broadwell, IL

October 16, 2023

Broadwell had a classic Route 66 restaurant called the Pig's Hip, which opened in 1937 and remained in operation until 1991. It was operated by Ernie Edwards and his family for the entire time. The Pig's Hip was once named The best Route 66 Attraction where the Original Guy is still there. After the restaurant closed, it housed a museum until it burned down in 2007. All that is left are some roadside markers.
