San Juan has the Pecos River Station, which is a general store and gas station. The view of the surrounding valleys and mesas is spectacular.
The ride from San Juan to Rowe is on the opposite side of I-25 than you have been on, and it's not nearly as pretty a ride. Still, it's not on the Interstate, and has more fun terrain to ride than you would have found on the Highway.

From San Juan, cross I-25 at Pecos River Station and follow the S Frontage Rd to Rowe

From San Juan, follow the N Frontage Rd to Bernal
