Sanders, AZ
When you get off I-40 in Sanders you will be next to the local schools. A few hundred yards down the Frontage Rd is a boarded up Stop and Go, and next door, a Church of the Latter-Day Saints, which is in good shape.
The Old Claymine Road Bridge, also known as the Old Route 66 Bridge is covered with sand and not passable by bikes or cars, but it is open to foot traffic.
Along the Frontage Rd to Chambers, you will pass the remnants of many now defunct Route 66 businesses and homes. There are some tired businesses hanging on, but overall it's pretty grim.
From Sanders, follow the N Frontage Rd to the first Stop sign - You will be in Chambers.
From Sanders, go right where the Frontage Road ends and cross I-40 - Get on I-40 and get off at Exit 357 - Go right, then immediately left onto the S Frontage Rd to Lupton - Stay on the Frontage Road to the Indian Market, then go left under I-40 - Go right onto the N Frontage Rd (Hwy 118)and follow it into New Mexico
